Learning Objectives

HUMAN RESOURCES PROGRAM

The Human Resources program provides a comprehensive foundation for international school HR professionals to manage the employee lifecycle and deliver consistent and well-documented practice.

Focused on developing practical systems that support day-to-day operations, this program covers key topics such as onboarding and offboarding by design, performance management that supports growth and accountability, and school-wide documentation that is workable and sustainable.

Participants will learn approaches to leading and managing teams, aligning HR and the Business Office, and handling investigations and other sensitive matters with confidence and care.

The course also explores the use of AI tools to improve personal efficiency and streamline recurring tasks, including drafting and summarising, creating information databases for policies and procedures, and designing templates and workflows that improve consistency.

Additionally, HR leaders will learn how to develop an HR dashboard, improve reporting, and present insights through effective data visualization techniques. The Human Resources program equips participants with practical tools and knowledge they can apply immediately in their school context.

Upon finishing the course, participants will be awarded a certificate that outlines the key areas of learning covered.

Who should join the Institute

This course supports learners who are in HR and people operations within an international school and are looking to build, refresh, or refine best practice. It is suitable for HR leaders and managers, HR generalists and specialists, and professionals responsible for recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance processes, HR operations, and reporting. The Institute is also relevant for school operations and business leaders who contribute to staffing, performance, culture, and employee matters and want a clearer view of effective HR practice in an international school setting.

Using different teaching strategies, our goal is that participants will be able to internalize their learning for application at their school. The content, structure, and timing of the course are designed to encourage peer support and shared learning as part of a collaborative process, helping participants expand their professional network with other international school colleagues.
